Milestones
1998
The foundation process for the university began.
15 Jan 2001
The university officially started functioning under the WBUT Act, 2001.
2015
Renamed in honour of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India's first Education Minister.
21 Feb 2025
MAKAUT Cultural Association (MCA) was established.
2026
TRINETRA — MCA's flagship pre-Durga Puja cultural fest.
